Kiev Railway Station, Ukraine.


Kiev Railway Station serves more than 170,000 passengers a day. Long distance, short distance, international services all stop at this railway station. The original station was built between 1868 - 1870. The current building was constructed between 1927 and 1932. In 2001 was restored to it's original design. It is designed in the style of Ukrainian Baroque with some elements of Constructivism.

British Railways Class 9F - Pines Express, United Kingdom.


BR Class 9F is class of of steam locos designed for British Railways. This class was the last in a series of standard locomotives classes designed for British Railways in 1950's. The class earned the nickname of "Spaceships" due to its size and shape.

The "Pines Express" ran daily between Manchester and Bournemouth between 1910 - 1967. Pines Express made the first journey on 26th September 1927 under this given name. Prior to that the train ran unnamed. The name was given due to the Pine tress growing in the area of Chines of Bournemouth.
