Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad, Colorado, U.S.A.
The Cumbres
& Toltec Scenic Railroad (C&TS)
is a narrow gauge heritage railroad running between Chama in New Mexico and
Antonito in Colorado. It runs over the 10,015 ft (3,053 m) Cumbres
Pass. The track was originally laid in 1880 by the Denver and Rio Grande
Railroad. In 1970 the C&TS began to take tourists on six-hour trips between
the two towns, using steam locomotives. The excursion trips stop at the Osier
station for lunch. The train from Chama meets the train from Antonito here. The
Osier station dates back to 1878 when it served as a wagon toll road gate.
The railway was listed on the National Register
of Historic Places in 1973.

Lehrter Railway Station (S Bahn), Berlin, Germany.
Berlin’s Lehrter Railway Station has been in
operation since 1882 serving the suburban and freight trains passing the city
in east – west direction. In 1930 the rail system was converted to the
operation of a light rail system on the S-Bahn and thus became the Lehrter
Bahnhof S-Bahn station. During the
period of East Germany, the station lost much of it’s importance as it was now
in East Germany divided by the wall. In 1984 the station was transferred to the
S Bahn to the West. This landmark
station remains even today in it’s original condition.
