Elektriraudtee (Electric Railway in Estonian) is an Estonia railway operator of electric commuter trains in Tallinn and the surrounding Harju County in Estonia. It is commonly referred to as the Tallinn Suburban Railway because it transports commuters in and out of the capital city. Elektriraudtee commenced operations in 1924. This postcard shows a early view of the railway.

Death Railway, Thailand.

The Burma Railway, also known as the Death Railway, the Thailand-Burma Railway and similar names, is a 415 kilometres (258 miles) railway between Bangkok, Thailand, and Yangon, Myanmar. The portion in use today measures some 130 km (80 miles). The line was abandoned beyond Nam Tok Sai Yok Noi. Today there is a regular train service between Thonburi railway station to Kanchanaburi via the Bridge on the River Kwai.

Sugar Cane Train, West Maui, Hawai, U.S.A.

Officially named the the Lahaina-Kaanapali and Pacific Railroad or LK&P, the Sugar Cane Train is an authentic reproduction of a sugar cane train that once ran through the sugar cane fields of West Maui from 1890 until around 1950. The train consists of locomotives which are authentic artifacts of Hawaii's railroad history. The coaches are replicas of the Kalakaua coaches that ran on the Hawaiian Railroad in the 1880's.

The Sugar Cane Train runs along a six mile stretch of narrow gauge track from Lahaina, past the resort area of Kaanapali to its end at Puukolii. Along the way the train passes through the former sugar cane fields, now being planted with other crops.

Here you can see the train crossing the 415 foot-long wooden trestle, the elevation of which allows great views of the surrounding Maui Mountains and the islands of Lana'i and Moloka'

This steam engine was used in the 1940's to carry goods. On 18.10.2008 the engine was once again used on the Eifel Railways on the Cologne - Gerolstein (Eifel) - Trie (Mosel)

Kiev Railway Station, Ukraine.

Kiev Railway Station serves more than 170,000 passengers a day. Long distance, short distance, international services all stop at this railway station. The original station was built between 1868 - 1870. The current building was constructed between 1927 and 1932. In 2001 was restored to it's original design. It is designed in the style of Ukrainian Baroque with some elements of Constructivism.

British Railways Class 9F - Pines Express, United Kingdom.

BR Class 9F is class of of steam locos designed for British Railways. This class was the last in a series of standard locomotives classes designed for British Railways in 1950's. The class earned the nickname of "Spaceships" due to its size and shape.

The "Pines Express" ran daily between Manchester and Bournemouth between 1910 - 1967. Pines Express made the first journey on 26th September 1927 under this given name. Prior to that the train ran unnamed. The name was given due to the Pine tress growing in the area of Chines of Bournemouth.

TGV @ Aulnoye Railway Station, France.

A french TGV @ Gare d' Aulnoye Railway Station. This station serves the town of Aulnoye-Aymeries (North) in Northern France on the Creil - Jeumont railway line.

Nicolaevsky Railway Station, Polotsk, Belarus.

This is the old railway staion in Nicolaevsky which existed in the XIX century. It is no longer in existence today. The postcard is from 1987.

Gare de Lyon (Paris Lyon) Raiway Station, France.

Paris Lyon is one of the six large railway stations in Paris. It is the northern terminus of the Paris - Marseille railway. Many of the long distance trains departing to the South of France from Paris starts here. It is the third busiest station on the French Rail network.

Sejourne Viaduct, France.

Sejourne Viaduct also known as the Stayed Bridge and Bridge Fontedrouse is a railway bridge allowing the Cerdanya Line crossing at Tet. The bridge was constructed between 1906 and 1908 and is named after the engineer who built it Paul Sejourne. It was declared a historical monument on 30th December 1994. The Little Yellow Train also known as the Le Petit Train travels on the bridge.
