The Skopje Central Railway Station is approximately 2 kilometers east of the city center. It is part of the "Transportation Center" complex, built in the 1970s to replace the first railway station that was destroyed by the 1963 earthquake. The new station has 10 platforms and is suspended on a massive concrete bridge about 2 km long.
Whether it's an almost vertical shuttle up a mountain or a voyage aboard a luxury carriage, a rail journey can be a unforgettable experience. So climb aboard and watch the landscape roll past through my blog. Discover the beauty of the world on trains. I will be happy to hear from you. E. Mail me on ravindrar@sltnet.lk

Hello Ravindra!
ReplyDeleteThis is really a very futuristic train station, I've been there some days ago. Some more pictures: http://ufoportglufenteich.net/2011/09/04/skopje-0612-der-neue-bahnhof/
Unfortunately only 5 of the 10 perrons are still in use.
Best regards from Germany,
Jiří
