DB 420 was a three part train built between 1969 and 1997 and was used in the S - Bahn network between Stuttgart to Frankfurt and Munich to Cologn/Dortmond. The Grey/Blue colour scheme was adopted in the later years in Munch after the passengers voted in favour of the colour scheme. Only a few of these trains now remain on the S-Bahn network in Stuttgart.
